Doon International School celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with grandeur and patriotic fervour, honouring the nation’s spirit of freedom and unity. The celebration was graced by Lt. Gen. Ajay Kumar Singh PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, PhD (Retd.) as the Chief Guest, whose presence added pride to the occasion. The event was attended by the Founder Principal Mrs. M.K. Mann, Chairman Mr. D.S. Mann, Directors of the school and the Principal Dr. Dinesh Bartwal. The celebration was further enriched by the esteemed presence of Dr. Kunwar Raj Asthana, Mr. Rajive Rekhi and Mrs. Sunita Rekhi, who graced the occasion as distinguished guests.

The ceremony commenced with the solemn unfurling of the National Flag and the National Anthem, filling the campus with a profound sense of pride and patriotism, followed by stirring performances celebrating India’s rich heritage, unity and indomitable spirit. Addressing the gathering, Lt. Gen. Ajay Kumar Singh paid tribute to the nation’s enduring spirit and inspired students to uphold the values of patriotism, discipline, integrity and service, dedicating themselves to the progress and glory of our motherland, India.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the School Director, Mr. H.S. Mann, who expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, teachers and students. In his concluding remarks, he emphasised that the freedom, India cherishes today is a sacred legacy earned through the courage and sacrifices of countless freedom fighters. He urged the students to honour this legacy by embracing courage, character and conviction and by dedicating themselves to building a stronger, united and glorious India.
